“Lucía is as inquisitive a journalist as you'll ever meet. Her search for the truth leads her to disassemble and study complex stories, to later present them to the audience in an intelligent but humble manner. She was the first one in the newsroom and the last one to leave. She thoroughly prepared for every interview, even if she already knew the subject. Always willing to lend a hand to her co-workers, no matter how much work she had on her desk. When working in the field, she took the time to listen to those who approached her, always looking for a way to help, even if it did not lead to a news story.
Lucía was our anchor during the unfortunate events of 9/11, and I cannot think of anyone else I would rather have on the anchor desk during those long and uncertain days.”
